Angel perfume for women, either you love it or hate it.

I have to confess that the first time I smelled Angel Perfume for women by fashion designer and photographer Thierry Mugler, I didn’t like it, or I should better say I really hated it. I thought it was a joke, a failed attempt of a perfume designer, that ended up in a bottle instead of the real perfume. I also scoffed at the fact that it was number 1 fragrance for women in France and number 8 in the US.
What can I say? Over the years, with a nose sharpened by experience (and by nose I mean the sense of olfaction…) I started to appreciate contradictions in perfumes, but at that time I used to see them as a matter of black and white, and Angel perfume is both things at the same time: fruity and sweet, masculine and feminine, reliable and perverse. It’s not just a mix, is a new thing altogether, almost impossible to explain with words. Patchouli and sandalwood masculine notes with feminine white flowers, chocolate and wood, Angel has them all, your brain can separate them, but your nose can’t. Think of an Yin and Yang symbol and you’ll know what I mean. Its formula was copied many times, but with no success.

Angel Perfume

Angel perfume’s website makes clear what type of Angel we are talking about: glamorous, sensual and voluptuous. They wanted ambiguity, and here it is. There actually is a whole line of products around this fragrance, with pretty much everything: body lotion, cream oil, shower gel.

So I guess you know how the story ends: when I realised what this feminine perfume really is it has never missed from my perfume shelf.
I know many people disagree with this, but I think Angel perfume is not an everyday fragrance. A work environment is not its best scenario, unless you are the manager which means you can wear whatever you like. Wear it on a Saturday night, spray it right out of the shower, and let the middle intense notes kick in, while you’re putting on your make-up.
By the time you get to the restaurant, this classy fragrance will be just perfect.
