Probably the most famous perfume of the house, created in 1998 by Henry Fremont (CK One, Juicy Couture, Vera Wang Princess), Romance Perfume By Ralph Lauren opens florally (it’s a word, right?), with a distinct rose, but then it soon settles down with a green accord.
That’s the signature of this perfume, and it gives, at least in the middle notes, an edible quality, that – at least to me – reminds of a juicy pear, but may be the result of chamomile mixed with florals. Although different in style (but not that much after all) it reminds me of Eau So Fresh by Marc Jacobs.
And all this is kind of attractive, but in a subtle way. Not because it’s soapy and clean, but thanks to a vague sweetness that makes the difference. It won’t make you smell chaste and pure but not single-and-ready-to-mingle either.
As time passes, an intense mix of rose and freesia takes the stage at times, but then it comes back with a trace of lemon (not sure if it was always there or if I was just distracted) and patchouli.
And so it fades, this Perfume Ralph Lauren Romance For Women, soft, feminine and (almost) innocent.
If this perfume was a color it would be this:
Ralph Lauren Perfume Romance
