Eternity Perfume For Men by Calvin Klein: Finally A Guy Who Can Listen

Another fresh classic for men from the Nineties (1990). CK Eternity is probably no longer rockin’ as it used to, but it still keeps its place in the market.

The nose behind it is Carlos Benamin, also creator of many of the Euphoria perfumes, Red Door by Elizabeth Arden, Armani Code for women, Premier Jour by Nina Ricci, and the First Polo by Ralph Lauren.

There is a sparkling opening, with a bright and intense mandarin, which is not evanescent, it stays and delivers. Soon the perfume becomes quieter and cleaner, with lavender and green notes.

As it evolves, the floral will show a more distinct, slightly soapy jasmine, still backed up by green herbs, with the citrus notes now in the background. As a result, Calvin Klein Eternity perfume has a clear-cut, clean tone. a cleanness that you will feel in the nose, imagine the effect of eucalyptus, but with a clean, floral, citrus and green aroma instead.

In the dry down jasmine has lost its soapiness, and probably we lost the jasmine altogether, with vetiver instead.

At this point, Eternity man is mainly floral, still masculine (although I bet women could pull it off no problem), but floral. Citrus notes are there to tingle the nose, if you let them.

Eternity CK is a reassuring perfume, it won’t talk much, but will listen a lot, probably thanks to the soft jasmine, which is typically feminine, and listening – so I’m told – is a feminine quality.

Let me finish with a personal note: this review is – also – to make it up to Claudia. She bought this perfume for me years ago, but I never quite wore it, because “I’m not much into perfumes, sorry.”

If this perfume wsas a color. it would be this:
