DKNY Be Delicious Perfume For Women: Searching For The Apple

Be Delicious Donna Karan is the mother, princess, queen and empress of flankers, which are those perfumes that come out as variations of the main one, sometimes only in the name, but with totally different notes. This one gave birth to at least 11 for women and 3 for men so far, but there’s no reason why it should stop here.

This DKNY Be Delicious review is for the original one, launched in 2004 and created by Maurice Rocel (24 Fabourg by Hermes, Guccy Envy, and many others).

Let’s talk about the green apple, shall we? Many people get it in the beginning, many don’t, and others are more like “well, maybe it’s there, not sure”. I’m part of the latter group.

Although the adjective in the name and the Be Delicious by DKNY perfume apple shape bottle will make you think of an edible fragrance, if you want to smell some fruits (apple, if you’re lucky, but also grapefruit, cucumber, and melon), you’ll have to hurry until they they’re still sharing their space with a soft magnolia, during the first hour.

Then the perfume will be all floral, with a pleasant, feminine, delicate, young, and all in all innocuous bouquet of rose, magnolia, lily-of-the-valley, and violet. The result is somehow sweet, although far from what you would smell in Flowerbomb by Viktor and Rolf.  In the base notes the florals are made slightly warmer by woods and amber.

Donna Karan DKNY Be Delicious is a perfume for a young age or a young personality. Over thirties beware: you need to be a fresh, smiling and upbeat woman to wear it. If you’re not like that all the time, keep it for those days.

If this perfume was a color it would be this:
